Fire Risk Assessment
Legislation is becoming more "risk" rather than "rule" based. Assessment of the likelihood of a fire and applying appropriate precautions is becoming a requirement in many areas of safety. A risk based approach has the advantage of matching the prevention and protection measures to the risk of fire and its consequences; this can mean reduced spending in some areas and the identification of the real risk areas where improvement should be targeted.
Haztech Fire Risk Assessment services include:
- Compliance with the Fire Precautions (workplace) Regulations 1997, The Fire Precautions (Workplace) (Amendment) Regulations 1999 and implications of the 'Regulatory Reform Order' which came into force in 2004.
- Analysis of the potential frequency of losses from fires and explosions.
- Fire and Explosion modeling to determine the potential scale of an incident and impact on people, business and the environment.
- Development of fire prevention and protection methods to reduce frequencies of fires.
- Development of the philosophy of fire detection and protection for a project to balance passive, active and manual fire protection methods to give the most effective protection at optimum cost.
